MAELSTROM team is convening in Malta for its 7th General Assembly and Steering Committee Meeting scheduled for March 15th. To mark this occasion, our consortium, along with Nature Trust Malta, a partner of the World Wildlife Fund, will organize a public beach clean-up and a beach litter monitoring session, with the use of the MAELSTROM app whose functionality has been upgraded under the Mission Ocean project REMEDIES. The event will be held on Saturday March 16th, at the coastal gem of Gnejna Bay.
The event will kick off at 10:00 am with participants gathering at Gnejna Bay for a morning dedicated to cleanup activities. Following the cleanup, the event will conclude with a “Refresh and Reflect” moment which will include a light lunch and an opportunity for reflection on the impacts of marine litter and the significance of collective efforts undertaken by civil society.
The MAELSTROM team and the colleagues from Nature Trust Malta welcome participants willing to participate at the cleanup/monitoring activities. This will also be the occasion to share the mission of Nature Trust Malta and MAELSTROM’s goals and milestones under the EU Mission Restore our Oceans and Waters within the Maltese society.
